Déguisements & Cosplay / idées et boutique
We recently showed you some of the great cosplay from runDisney’s “Star Wars” Half Marathon Weekend, but we’ve learned that the new rules surrounding cosplay at the event proved problematic for some.
Runner Khoi Hathuc sent us this message along with the above picture of their planned cosplay and, I have to say, it’s a shame that all of their hard work went to waste.
I just wanted to say I liked your article about the costumes and creativity on display at the Disney star wars half, but I wanted to call your attention to a group of avid fans that got left out due to inconsistencies in the new costume policies Disney sent out 12 days before the race.
My running club and a great deal of other people were forced to remove their costumes and in some cases trash them due to new safety fears.
It is of course understandable, but the rules were vague and inconsistently enforced.
Based on other comments I’ve read, it seems like there was definitely some confusion surrounding the new rules.
Now that the rules are in place, hopefully it won’t be much of an issue next year.
Check out another pic of a banned cosplay below.
And if your cosplay was rejected at runDisney over safety concerns, send a pic to email@example.com so we can share your work.
@torisempai and my glorious/ epic costumes weren't allowed at #starwars10k because of last minute costume rules.
Not only do we light up, we had speakers with pew pew sound effects.
